Description
Description:
Sensemaking puts the heavy lifting of learning on the student, yes? That is correct! But the teacher must carefully craft opportunities for students to share and build on each other’s ideas. Therefore, how we facilitate these discussions depends on how they are developed into the instructional sequence. In this workshop, we’ll look at the different types of discourse techniques and gain strategies for implementing them that will move instruction from memorizing science facts to to deeply discussing science concepts in a sequential method that makes sense to all students.3 Hours of PD Credit will be awarded.
