Region VII: Cochise and Santa Cruz Counties

About Myself:

Hello! My name is Rebecca Bhasme [Pronounced as “Bus” “me”], and I am deeply passionate about STEM education and empowering the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. With over a decade of experience as a STEM teacher, I have dedicated myself to creating engaging and transformative learning experiences for my students. I thrive on organizing and participating in various STEM programs, including serving as the Science Fair Director and Science Team Lead at Willcox Middle School, Willcox AZ. These experiences allow me to inspire and empower students to explore their scientific interests and unleash their full potential. One of my guiding principles in life is encapsulated in my favorite quote by Richard Branson: “If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say Yes. Then learn how to do it later.”

My favorite Science Activity:

My favorite science activity is engaging students in hands-on experiments and projects that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I enjoy organizing science fairs, facilitating STEM competitions, or leading collaborative research projects. Additionally, I like taking my students on field trips to learn from different cultures, peoples and first-hand experiences. This helps in incorporating diverse perspectives into my science activities, promoting inclusivity and global awareness among my students.
