Description
Join Arizona science teachers in a collaborative Community of Practice focused on strengthening our understanding of Earth and Space Science core ideas. Together, we will explore how Earth’s composition, systems, atmosphere, and human impacts (E1), as well as Earth’s place in the solar system and the broader universe (E2), are developed across K–12 instruction. Using Disciplinary Core Ideas: Reshaping Teaching and Learning, we will examine Big Ideas, discuss classroom applications, and try out instructional strategies that spark curiosity and deepen student sensemaking. Each virtual session blends content learning with practical resource sharing to help teachers more confidently support students in explaining Earth and Space phenomena. Participants may use their own copy of the book or receive the needed chapters electronically from ASTA.
