Digital Media Literacy Education
Media Literacy is a critical component in education today in an ever-changing digital world. Today’s information and entertainment technologies communicate to us through a powerful combination of words, images, and sounds. As such, we need to develop a wider set of literacy skills helping us to both comprehend the messages we receive and effectively utilize these tools to design and distribute our messages. ASTA advocates for the promotion of media literacy education for students, high quality training for teachers, and classroom experiences that allow content to be delivered in all Arizona classrooms without penalty, reform or policy that would fall on the shoulders of classroom teachers.
