Description

Description: Using a Communities of Practice (CoP) model, we will work together to deepen our understanding of the sensemaking Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs), namely analyzing and interpreting data, developing and using models, and constructing explanations and designing solutions, as outlined in Helping Students Make Sense of the World Using Next Generation Science & Engineering Practices by authors Christina Schwarz, Cynthia Passmore, and Brian Reiser.  Kristin Hunter-Thomson from Dataspire will be joining us as an expert on March 19th.  We will begin meeting through Zoom starting in February with our final meeting in April. As a CoP, we will be practicing strategies, sharing ideas about what works, learning from others and growing together.
