Description: What does it look and sound like when students are engaged in authentic academic discussions? How can educators support students to engage in these rich conversations, not just to deepen their conceptual understanding but to help create a sense of belonging in a classroom community?
In this workshop, we analyze examples of K-12 students engaging in authentic practices of science and engineering as they work to figure out real-world phenomena, and we discuss discourse strategies that can be used in the classroom.

3 Hours of PD Credit will be awarded.
